What is the Fundraising MasterClass?

This is an in-person experience for not-for-profit CEOs, Executive Directors, and seasoned fundraising professionals who are looking for a like-minded group of individuals to learn from, share with, and grow with. I will design and lead each session.

Get ready for a high-quality, three-month, firsthand learning experience, packed with in-depth knowledge, shared wisdom, accountability, and expert leadership.

What the Fundraising MasterClass covers

Our work starts before we gather in person. Each participant will be asked to complete a brief survey, which will provide vital insights into your current status, fundraising goals, and workplace culture. We will use these results as a baseline and go over them in our first class. Among the topics we'll explore:

  • How is your team is working?

  • How are you recruiting and retaining talent?

  • What’s your culture, and how has it changed in the last three years?

  • Where are you headed, and what do you need to be doing so that you raise money for your mission?

  • How are you spending your time fundraising?

  • How you are setting priorities?

All of this provides the foundation for your fundraising blueprint.

Month 1

This month we will be creating your fundraising plans and, most importantly, your fundraising strategy.

  • We’ll examine how all the fundraising pieces fit together—from annual funds to capital campaigns—and what organizations need to focus on now.

  • No MasterClass on fundraising would be complete without talking about boards—how to develop an effective board, how to collaborate with them, setting and managing expectations, and involving them in the fundraising process.

  • Our homework for this month is to either create, or review and improve upon, your current fundraising plans and strategies for the year.  I will be personally reviewing all of these and offer feedback to you.

  • We’ll also delve into a crucial piece of fundraising: Telling your story through an inventive and thought-provoking tactic I call “Hook, Story, Close.”

Month 2

Month 3 is all about the execution of your fundraising plans and strategies and how to remain consistent.

  • We’ll go in-depth into how to keep your prospects, your staff, and yourselves motivated and energized.

  • We’ll develop real tactics for how to keep doing the work, especially as you are pulled in different, competing, and equally important directions.

  • We’ll end with a networking happy hour with lots of reflections and shared wisdom!
